Wal-Mart Discussion on Local TV

Mountain Lake PBS will air a panel discussion on the local Wal-Mart issue this Friday evening at 8:30 PM. It will be an episode of Mountain Lake Journal and the panel will consist of Brian Mann (NCPR), Jack LaDuke (WCAX-TV) and Peter Crowley (Adirondack Daily Enterprise). I believe the episode will also be shown on Saturday at 7 PM.

Wow - Like, Brian Mann (SL Village Board Member - Susan Waters husband) and Peter Crowley are going to be truly objective and un-biased on their comments on this subject. Closet members of the anti-Wal-Mart Camp - what a farse this will be!

That's right. Criticize the program before you even hear what these people have to say.

Brian is very objective when he reports and his comments I expect will be genuine - he does not temper his reporting because of any personal beliefs he might have although that doesn't mean he won't draw on his personal experience when in a discussion group like this. As for Peter, I'm not sure where he is on the issue - he certainly likes to give the pro Wal-Mart gang more than enough opportunity to spew their rhetoric (ADE "polls") BTW - farce is spelled f-a-r-C-e

Can we keep this dialogue civil? (How about we keep the sarcastic and obnoxious comments on the ADE polls.) I look forward to seeing the PBS program. I believe the news reporters in our area are very fair, more then we sometimes would like. Everyone has opinions but facts are facts, so let's see what people have to say on this show. Let's see what the positives are before we put down something.
